Withering Wednesday

What a gloomy dreary day it was today. However,

I was able to keep an upbeat tune with an inspiring recipe.

Along with this tasty treat, make yourself a glass of warm chai tea
or my favorite, warm milk. Yumm.

As you cuddle up in your couch or a favorite spot grab a delightful book. I browsed through the new book Over the Bridge: A History of Eastport at Annapolis.

This book shares a great collection of photos shared from locals as it highlights the history of Eastport. After reading this, you will be amazed at how much our little town has changed! Below is a picture in the book of my great-great-grandfather on his pier overlooking Acton Cove and the Naval Academy.

What a perfect way to end a day like this!

Happy belated Halloween!!

Hope everyone had a spookishly fabulous halloween!

Sorry I have not posted in a few weeks, I have just been working on cloud 9. Above are some delicious cupcakes we made to celebrate the holiday. Some of my favorite halloween ideas this year included unique costumes such as Alan from the Hangover.

Boats, Boats, Dreams Galore!

I am so excited for the weekend to finally be here!
It got awfully cold this week in Annapolis so
make sure to buddle up for this weekend's events.

The 38th annual powerboat show is this weekend Oct. 15-18th.

The sailboats were moved out and the big ‘ol powerboats
were glided into Ego Alley.

Hopefully the rain will hold off but if the heavens decide to open up the new movies “Law Abiding Citizen” will open up at the
 Harbor Center and “Where the Wild Things Are”
will open at the Annapolis Mall.

So I hope everyone stays busy,
I will be relaxing this weekend for sure!

All Aboard!!

Known as “the sailing capital of the world,” Annapolis hosts a nautical event this weekend that certifies this truth. The 40th Annual United States Sailboat Show is happening in downtown

Ego Alley from Oct. 8th-12th.

Each year sailors flock together to sell, buy, or just tour their dream boats. Ego Alley is filled with numerous types of sailboats and manufacturers specializing in equipment and accessories. What a great time of year to get the family and friends together to visit downtown Annapolis and see what the boom is all about.

The Fall Barn Show

One of my favorite fall events is occuring this weekend,

 the Fall Barn Show!

This is the ultimate upscale yardsale and the perfect welcoming of Autumn. Each year my mother, grandmother, and I get our checkbooks ready as we stroll through the multi-stall barn eyeing our fabulous finds. Of course my grandmother brings cash because she is convinced she can always get a better deal.

The Barn Girls really know how to set up shop with their unique merchandise and fun accessories. This local affair is so seasonal and makes for a great reason to gather the girls together, which makes it one of my favorite shopping experiences.

If you decide to bring the fam, they even have yummy goodies outside for the men and a pumpkin patch for the kids. But be warned that woman shoppers are swift and

wait for no one when snatching a deal.

    All weekend long, Oct.2nd-4th, the Fall Barn Show is taking place at 3250 Bottner Road in Gambrills, MD 21054. Its only 5 miles from the Annapolis Mall. Enjoy!
